We have been working as an artist team since 1998 creating installations and site specific work around the world. This process weaves together observable elements with creative instinct and defines art-making as an engagement with any given environment. The makeup and conditions of a site, its geological history, topography and human imprint reveal meaning. As we engage a ‘site’ research, observation, intuition and chance become factors in the development of a work. The work becomes a residue of both experience and inter-action. We map this process through dialogue, writings and the creation of temporal and permanent sculptures and mark making. Through the navigation of our maps we often obscure the edge between art making and way of life.
