"space and time”
desert Flats, North Western Sahara Desert Morocco 2002
broken roofing tiles
The desert floor gives evidence of a once ancient ocean floor; expansive yet subtle valleys and mountain ridges sanded smooth from geological process. Here we gave closure to our experience in the desert by taking the broken tile shards gathered from the Merzouga desert site and laying them out in an arced pathway on the desert floor between Rissani and El Nif. This was our curvature of ‘space and time’ as the shortest distance between two points.
