“Second Nature”
Site: mound of Monocot Grasses, Royal Botanical Gardens - Laking Garden 2014
Materials: manna grass and sea grass, Dimensions: 39 feet long

Working as Site Artists the grasses became both the material and the process of this work. Through observation and interaction with the grasses, the site and the expertise of the keepers of the gardens our approach began.

Second nature is a soft human reflection of a monocot family of grasses celebrating their distinguishing characteristics like the division of three through the ritualistic act of braiding.
